Garden Group

The group is simply a casual association of residents who enjoy gardening.

Some Garden Group (GG) members prefer to work alone and others prefer to form a team.

All projects are self funded by group members and all labour is volunteered.

No formal meetings are held. However, the GG Convenor provides a written summary and update of the group members’ activities to each EC Meeting.

To become part of the GG you are asked to sign on because by doing so, whenever you carry out a gardening activity on common property, which has prior EC sanction, you are covered by the Body Corporate’s insurance cover for Voluntary Workers.

Guiding principles:

Projects are to be in keeping with the overall garden/open space plan for the Castle Vale complex and require prior approval of the EC.

‘Green light’ Process

The process for seeking a project’s ‘green light’ is straightforward.

Any GG member can put forward a very brief proposal for improvement of a specific area of Castle Vale’s common property green space via the GG Convenor.

The Convenor will liaise with management of Fresh Landscape Services to ensure GG project’s timetable would complement (and not clash with) Fresh’s schedule of works and then
take the proposal to the next Executive Committee Meeting.

NB Fresh is the company contracted to maintain Castle Vale’s common property green space.

For insurance reasons, registration is compulsory. Volunteers can register their interest by completing the form below or contacting the group’s administrator, Macey Kavalee, on 0412 084 661.
